Our program emphasizes academics while creating unique and relevant learning opportunities in our community.
The Biome is the “School Without Walls.” We deliver an engaging academic program by collaborating with institutional and corporate partners like the St. Louis Zoo. Choice, autonomy, and student agency are vital to our educational philosophy. Classroom leaders act as guides to help learners set and achieve goals and pursue interests in and outside the school’s walls.
Our innovative approach aims to facilitate an education based on building learners’ knowledge, skills, and experience.
How do we do this:
- Individual focus –
- We recognize each child as an individual
- We employ a competency-based program
- We emphasize choice and autonomy
- We build micro-schools to help students explore their nterest
- We set high expectations for our staff, families, and children
What are our expected outcomes:
