2018-2019 School Year Opportunities
If you are interested in volunteering in our classrooms throughout the school year, see the opportunities below. We ask that if you plan to volunteer in the classroom, that you make a commitment of at least one hour a day, one day a week.
Classroom Assistants – 8:00AM-3:00PM
Classroom assistants will have the opportunity to engage with elementary age learners and support daily instruction in classrooms grade K-4. They will have the opportunity to help learners with reading, math, and other center activities; engage with learners during snack, lunch, and recess; assist teachers with administrative tasks within the classroom.
After School Enrichment Buddies – 3:00PM-6:00PM
Enrichment buddies will have the opportunity to engage with small groups of K-4th learners in a variety of enrichment activities, supervise and engage learners in fun, recreational activities, help serve snacks to students, help students transition to different activities, and serve as a positive role model.
2018-2019 Literacy Mornings
If you’re looking for a one time or episodic volunteer opportunity, consider joining us for a Literacy Morning! At The Biome, each month, from 8:00am-8: 30am, we celebrate literacy by inviting family, friends, and volunteers into our classrooms to share fun stories, discover new books, and practice our growing literacy skills.
